In this absolutely colorless diamond, white light penetrates the stone and exits in the rainbow colors, making a diamond sparkle especially beautifully when light hits it from above. They are the most expensive of all white diamonds and therefore from about 0.50 carat in the highest purity = flawless also suitable as an investment stone.
 
The color River (new designation: D or E) denotes diamonds of the best color grade = high fine white (+) or colorless.
 
River diamonds up to the size of 0.07 carat are also very popular as dental jewelry.
 
What do the clarities mean?
This is based on the view through a 10x magnifying glass:
At 10x magnification, no inclusions are visible, the stone is flawless (LC) or IF (internally flawless).
 
If inclusions are only (very) difficult to see, the purity is called VVS = very very small inclusions or VS = very small inclusions.
 
If inclusions are somewhat visible at 10x magnification, they are referred to as SI = small inclusions.
 
Recognizable inclusions start with the designation P1 and end with P3.
