After the brilliant cut, the princess cut, created in 1981, is the most popular shape of a diamond, especially for engagement rings. It is square, but can also be minimally rectangular. Because of their shape, princess-cut diamonds can be placed next to each other without a gap and are therefore particularly suitable for eternity rings or tennis bracelets.
